I am a youth and family therapist and realized that issues surrounding gratitude started to pop up regularly in my practice. let me just say, i am SO thankful that i read this book at home prior to bringing it to work and reading it in session because about 1/2 way through i realized where the story was going and began to get teary. by the end of the book, i was crying like a baby!! it's an emotional roller coaster!! pheeeeew.
As a kid I loved loved getting new shoes so I can relate to that and I like that they talk about want and need. I also like that we can all relate to buying shoes that don’t fit. What I really don’t like is how the entire book he’s comparing himself to others and I try to teach kids not to do that to that extreme. Also when he had his boots he was happy they were new but how about thankful to grandma?
I am a school social worker for an elementary school. The kids love this book. They can relate to it. I use it to teach them to be considerate and mindful about the economic situations of others that may not be as fortunate. It also has a very powerful message at the end that teaches children about selflessly giving to others.
One of the best book I have purchased. I actually saw this as one of a list of 10 books that teaches kindness to children which this one really does. I highly recommends this book.
I wanted a book to encourage my kid to be generous and kind. I liked that this book talked about how hard it is sometimes to be generous, and how we sometimes wrestle with wanting to be selfish. This book made me choke up with how matter-of-factly sweet it was.
This is a library book that was loved and renewed so much that we added it to our family library. We found it to be an engaging story that helped describe empathy in a way that my preschooler understood. With a multicultural cast in a city setting, its been a great way to show diversity in character development. I'd absolutely recommend this.
Great message and my daughter (3) loves the book. I read it to her just about every night - amongst other books haha - this one is amazing. I truely believe as parents we should be reading all the time and not just fairy tales but books with meaning as well.
I really like the moral of this story. I buy a lot of books for my kids to read that are about empathy and social skills and this is one of my favorites. Have had some really good talks with my son after reading this book.

I gave the book as a gift and the gift getter says it is absolutely wonderful and for a flight enthusiast, is "plane porn."
This book would make a good gift for a young child with an interest in airplanes. Only a step above a pop-up book, it's graphics are colorful and pleasant. The photos are too small to be of any use. and the statistical information provided isn't consistant from one entry to the next. It is obvious that the authors made no attempt to cover all the bases, depending rather on their own personal preferences. This would explain why the Fokker D-VII received 6 pages and the Sopwith 1 & 1/2 Strutter is not even listed. An even larger question is why the DH.80A was even included at all as it is neither a biplane, a triplane, nor a seaplane. And no entry at all is made of that most famous of American biplanes - the PT-17 Stearman! This book is obviously the work of house writers that were give the project and a week to create it. An exercise in desktop publishing in saleable book form.As I said, a good book for the child of 6 or 8 but a complete waste of money for anyone seriously interested in the subject(s). I bought my copy at a used bookstore for $5 and still feel ripped off. It's not even a fair reference for modeling purposes.If you're out of the 4th grade, don't waste your time.
This book is not an in-depth, extensive work covering all aircraft in this category, but it's absolutely worthwile getting.I love the size of the book and layout of the pages where photos and drawings are supplemented with bullet style facts and descriptions.It's a great book to have lying around and every now and then open it on a random page, read it, marvel at the photos and get a feeling of what aviation was like in the twenties or thirties of the last century.

Beautiful little copy of one of the direwolf statues flanking the entrance to the Stark crypt at Winterfell. Very good quality surface texture, good weight to it.
Just got it in the mail today. I love it! I didn't think it would be so tiny but I'm glad it was! I'm going to start a collection of them because they don't take up so much room. The quality it very nice. I'll be ordering the rest from the seller
Excellent mini-book and sculpt set. The direwolf is surprisingly heavy. Perhaps not quite heavy enough for a bookend shelf spacer for large paperbacks. A nice stocking stuffer gift.
Artistic quality of this was excellent. The person who received this loved it and I'll be getting more from the series!
My daughter said she wanted a dire wolf for Christmas. This is what she got and she was very pleased! It’s a hefty little thing. Nice to sit on her desk or shelf.
Very small. A little bigger than your hand. Tip of fingers to wrist. heavier than i thought it would be. very nice detail. loved it.
Gift for my niece, she loved it. Heavy and well made, and has a little book about the Starks. Adorable!
Item came in excellent condition fyi the item is fragile so be careful taking the item out of the box
